中学生による英語スピーチコンテストを開催しました！

9月13日に本校中学生によるスピーチコンテストが、グローバルビレッジにて開催されました。その時の様子を、英語のカーソン先生がまとめてくれました。

Every year, Eisugakkan Junior High School holds a speech contest to encourage students to think about skills required for communication such as pronunciation and rhythm.

The process starts before summer when the students prepare English speeches on a topic of their own choosing.

The subject ranges widely from travel experiences to how to counteract global warming and make society more ecologically friendly.

The range is impressive and exploring ideas in a second language is difficult but rewarding.

After summer vacation, students present their speeches in class and the top students give their speeches to the whole school and parents a week late.

The school speech contest is divided by category A and B.

Category A is for students who have years of experience in an English speaking education while category B is for students who are new to the English language.

This year’s winners are in the B category Taito Tsukahara (Gold), Mei Taruno (Silver) and Ayuka Nishiki(bronze).

The winners in the A category are Sakura Hisatomi (Gold), Claire Fujita (Silver) and Yuka Fukahori (Bronze).

 Gifts were given to three students for excellence and these students were Sakura Hisatomi (The importance of meeting people), Claire Fujita (Fungi bricks: Environmentally friendly furniture) and Taito Tsukahara (the school of the future). 

Each year students work very hard to give an interesting and informative presentation in English and everyone who participated gave it their best.
